Big and little dogs, cats in crates and others in arms, chickens in a mini coop, rabbits, and even fish make their way to St. Anthony’s School for the annual blessing of the animals. The 4th grade students host this annual tradition, in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and ecology.
St. Anthony’s School holds a Dia de los Muertos prayer service in honor of the Holy Souls. Student's bring memorial frames with photos of their deceased family members to be displayed throughout the month of November on an "Ofrenda" altar that is decorated with art projects from each grade.
St. Anthony’s student government manages a Thanksgiving food drive for Catholic Charities. Donations are used to create Thanksgiving Meal Boxes for families in need. Our student government solicits donations from fellow students, collects the donations, and helps load the Catholic Charities truck.
The fifth grade students work in pairs to make knot tied fleece blankets for Catholic Charities of Fresno. Blankets are wrapped with festive ribbon and delivered to Catholic Charities in time for Christmas.
During the month of May, St. Anthony’s students honor the Blessed Mother with many activities, including an all school prayer service in which the kindergarteners crown our image of Mary in the garden.
